Estee Lauder Lipstick

Pure Color lipstick: (Im still trying to find the box with the shade name)

DSC03690.jpg picture by quikdiesel

I got this Estee Lauder Lipstick literally ages ago, I don’t think they even sell this shade anymore. But its been on my favorites list for a couple years now so I decided to talk about it. It`s really smooth and the shade is AMAZING. i havent really found the same shade yet in other brands.

DSC03691.jpg picture by quikdiesel

It`s basically a gold sheen but with sparkly tints of rose. It actually reminds me of some goldish pinkish blushes I have. I say its a hard shade to find because I usually see bronzy golds but this one is like a pure gold colour. But it looks natural on the lips. The shine of the gold plus the small sparkles reflects light and makes lips a tad fuller looking and also very summery.

As I said, I don`t think you can get this shade anymore but I will double check and update if I do find it.  But if you were thinking of getting any other of the Pure Color shades I`m sure they would be great too. The quality is pretty good and I believe they are selling for $22 USD. Which is not tooooo bad for a higher end brand.

DKNY lipgloss

DKNY has always been one of my favorite clothing brands and I really wish they would come out with a full makeup line. I have however collected all three of their lipglosses that were launched with the apple shaped perfumes.

 DSC03693.jpg picture by quikdiesel

I believe the first one on the left is the first one they came out with that went out with the original apple perfume. I don’t have it but here is a picture of it:

Be Delicious

The lipgloss smells like the perfume does; like a fresh green apple with a slight flowery hint. It comes out mostly clear but quite glossy and has good staying power. The consistency is slightly sticky though.

The  one in the middle goes with the second perfume they came out with which looks the first one except that the green parts are red. The lipgloss and the perfume are supposed to be a stronger version of the original and I find it smells like apple with a hint of raspberry and lychee. Good enough to eat! The colour of the lipgloss looks really red at first but on the lips its just a really light red with the same glossiness as the first one.

I like the smell of the one on the right the most. The perfume bottle is the same again except it is that rich purple colour you see on the lipgloss.

Be Delicious Night

While the other two are called Be Delicious, this one is called Be Delicious night. I don’t have the perfume for this one either but I would recommend it. It is a sexy, vanilla smell with hints of ginger and jasmine. The lipgloss is not as dark as it looks but is more suitable for evening looks as it is a bit darker and heavier.

These lipglosses are great if you don’t want to spend so much money and buy the perfume. I think the lipglosses are around the $20 mark Canadian while the perfumes range from $45-80

I have purchased the newer Be Delicious Fresh Blossom perfume and I love the smell. I will certainly write about that one in a later post.

Paul and Joe Eyegloss

Another Paul and Joe purchase!

I have been loving cream, gel, liquid eyeshadows lately because of their great texture and sheen so I decided to try this one out.

DSC03698.jpg picture by quikdiesel

They use numbers for their colours and I don’t remember what number this one is. But the colour is a nice shimmery lavender. I like to wear it layered with a gold shade normally because it is a light shade and the gold makes it pop a bit more.

DSC03700.jpg picture by quikdiesel

I’m not too crazy about the applicator but it works fine with fingers as well. The website says that its a “whipped gel”. lIt doesn’t feel like a gel, it’s more liquidy but not runny. I would say it’s somewhere between a liquid and a cream consistency. I don’t like this one as much as my Calvin Klein cream eyeshadow but it is still pretty good. It doesn’t crease and applies easily.

As an extra little bonus, there is a cute flower engraved on the top of the lid to match the gold flowers on the tube.

DSC03699.jpg picture by quikdiesel

I love how much attention Paul and Joe pays to the design of their products. It always has the ability to sway me from “well i really shouldn’t spend another portion of my paycheck on makeup” to “omg but its so pretty, i just have to have it or I’ll regret it for life”.

Tony Moly Lipstick/SaSa

I purchased several items online from SaSa cosmetics recently. Sasa is a cosmetics store based in Hong Kong but their website (http://web3.sasa.com/SasaWeb/eng/sasa/home.jsp) is available in English with United States and Candian prices. And speaking about the prices, they are very affordable but there are also more expensive items if you desire them. They carry many Asian brands, lots from Japan, but they also have the usual brands like Lancome, Clinique, Dior etc. etc. On orders over US $75 there is free shipping as well.

One of the things I got this time was a Tony Moly Lipstick.

DSC03688.jpg picture by quikdiesel

I can’t quite remember the name of this one and it doesn’t say on the tube but I’m pretty sure it had berry somewhere in it. The design is really cute, especially the ribbon on top.

DSC03689.jpg picture by quikdiesel

It smells like berries too. The colour is orangy red with sparkles in it. I usually just apply a light layer or else it looks way too orangy. I find it looks good when I am wearing brown clothes. The texture and lasting power is only average.

I just looked on Sasa to see if I could find it but it is already not on the site. I have no idea where else you can buy Tony Moly cosmetics online but will post a site if I find one. You can visit the website (www.tonymoly.com) but it is all in Korean and I don’t think there is an English option. But from the site, it seems like they have a wide variety of makeup and skincare and I have heard lots of good things about the brand so it would be worth a try if you can come across it.

Gel Nails

I got gel nails for the first time two months ago for an event. In the beginning I was worried that they would look too fake but they turned out really nice.

Photobucket

They were a pain to remove though. I mostly just ripped them off which I know is bad but I was too lazy to try anything else. It left the surface of my nails slightly uneven for a while and I think I will stick to growing my nails and then getting really nice designs on them next time instead of getting gel nails.

Paul and Joe Lipstick

Over the past couple of months I have gotten 3 Paul and Joe lipsticks.

DSC03680.jpg picture by quikdiesel

I just adore the unique patterns on each of the tubes. They are so different from all the other lipstick tubes out there. The texture of the lipsticks is very creamy, smooth and moisturizing. No feathering whatsoever. They stay put for quite a long time and the colours are nice. I believe Paul and Joe lipsticks with patterns are limited edition or they constantly change the patterns.

DSC03681.jpg picture by quikdiesel

This one is my most recent purchase but I use it as more of a lip balm than a lipstick. It is colourless but shimmery. I was debating whether I should get this since there isn’t much point to a colourless lipstick but the engraved flowers on it really lured me in. I use it over duller or matte lipsticks to give my lips a sheer shine.

DSC03682.jpg picture by quikdiesel

This is the one I use the most out of the three. It’s a light, dusky rose colour that brightens my whole face.

DSC03683.jpg picture by quikdiesel

The marks on this one are just from careless handle. This colour is a mix of rose and bronze. It plays up my lips more than the previous one so I only use it when the rest of my makeup is more simple.

I really like the colour and texture of all three and will continue to buy Paul and Joe lipsticks. But the design is really half of why I like them so much haha. I tend to judge a book by its cover when it comes to makeup. You can also go check out their pretty website: http://www.paul-joe-beaute.com/en/

Tanning

Ok now onto my tanning rant!!

I started using at home tanning stuff last summer and the first and last I used that summer was a Lancome mousse.

DSC03676.jpg picture by quikdiesel

It gave my skin a shimmery golden brown tan and it was moisturizing and easy to apply. I’ve read good reviews about many of Lancome’s tanners and I suggest that first time users can use this nofail brand.

But this summer, I wanted to try a new brand and had been hearing a lot about Mystic Tan.

DSC03675.jpg picture by quikdiesel

So I popped into Sephora (as I religiously do) and picked up a can of Mystic Tan spray. I asked the lady there if a spray would go on unevenly and she assured me it wouldn’t and that it was a bestseller at Sephora. Trusting her, I bought the spray but when I went home to apply it after a shower and exfoliating I was so scared. After a few tries, sprays aren’t that hard to apply but the first time is quite difficult and i would NOT recommend it for first time users. It turned out sort of uneven because I didn’t always hold the can at the same length away from my body and it’s near impossible to spray your own back!

But the colour was not bad. It says Build-Up on the can but it’s really not. I was quite dark after the first application but it wasn’t a bad dark and gave me that “expensive” look, like I just came back from a trip in Capri. I had to go to an event the next day and I wore a long white dress which showed off my tan and I got lots of compliments. So I kept using it but it only lasted less than a month! Then I went back to Sephora to stock up and decided to try the Mystic Tan LOTION. But I decided I wanted to try a new brand and selected a Biotherm “mlk” lotion tanner.

DSC03678.jpg picture by quikdiesel

It was cheaper than the Mystic Tan stuff and I’ve only used it a couple of times but it looks like it can be used more times. By milk, they mean that the lotion is white. It’s definetely a build-up one and it gives a very natural look. If you’re looking for fast-action and a dark tan this is definetely a no go. But if you’re just starting out and want a subtle colour, this one isn’t bad. It’s suppose to be moisturizing for eight hours too although I thought the Lancome one I had last year was more moisturizing.

Clavin Klein Makeup

I recently got some new Calvin Klein makeup and I must say that it’s my new favorite brand. (I’m a bit of a beauty junkie and I go to sephora about every two weeks to stock up.)

So far I have gotten their nail polish, cream eyeshadow, eyeliner, Illuminating cream, and their lipstick. I will do a bit of a review on them here now.

Nail Polish: (Splendid Color Unstoppable Color Nail Enamel)

DSC03657.jpg picture by quikdiesel

They don’t have that many colours available and I have only gotten the one called “pearly” so far

It looks exactly like the name suggests. It comes out as a pearly sheen and and it has a hint of white in it which I love because it looks very good with my tan. I was originally wanting an actual white colour to go with my new tan (will blog about that later) but all the Sephora Opi ones i tried in the store just didn’t look quite right to me. I’m really happy I ended up getting this pearly colour, it’s so simple yet elegant (like pearl necklaces are!).

What I really like about the design is that you can take off the big cap and underneath….there is a smaller, rounded cap and you can choose either one to use when applying the polish. I prefer the smaller one since it gives more control.

DSC03661.jpg picture by quikdiesel

(sorry for the fuzzy pic, i need to get a new camera)

Ok now here comes the cons but theres actually not that many. It does take a while to dry, about half an hour for it to be completely set. You can use your hands after about 5-10 minutes but you just have to be really careful. Another con is that you have to apply quite a few layers (min 3) before it gives you a nice solid colour. But the thing is I don’t use a base colour before I apply this polish but if you did, I’m sure it would take less time to get that solid colour instead of a seethroughish tone.

Tempting Glimmer Sheer Creme Eyeshadow (Champagne Satin):

DSC03666.jpg picture by quikdiesel

I absolutely love this creamy eyeshadow!!!! I’ve been wanting to try cream eyeshadow for a while and this certainly doesn’t dissapoint. The one I got is called Champagne Satin and its like a muted gold sheen. It’s shimmery but not overly glittery and the texture is so soft and velvety. I just use my fingers to apply it and its really quite easy and efficient. It actually stayed put too even after I took a 30 minute walk in the sweltering heat outside. Creasing isn’t a problem either. But I did dab on some eye primer (Too Faced Eye Insurance) before putting on the cream eyeshadow and that definetely helps. I really don’t have any complaints about this eyeshadow!

Runway Radiance Illuminating Cream (Pearl Glow)

 DSC03665.jpg picture by quikdiesel

Ok so that long name can basically be translated into “highlighter”. They have two shades for this highlighter, Golden Glow and Pearl Glow and I got the latter one which is like a pinkish goldish colour. I am currently using it everyday this summer because it gives just the right amount of glow and is lighter than a bronzer. I apply it to my cheekbones and the bridge of my nose and it contours my face.

I was doing my Indian friend’s makeup the other day with the help of this cream and it looked really pretty on her brown skintone. I had already put on a bronzer but it didn’t really show on her dark skin so I tried the highlighter/illuminator and it worked wonders!! It made her cheekbones look higher and gave a subtle pinky glow. I think it looks better on her brown skin than it does on my own asian skin haha.

For a little tip, I’m sure it would look nice if you mixed it in with a liquid foundation or your moisturizer for an allover glow. I haven’t tried it yet though so no guarantees.

Delicious Luxury Creme Lipstick (105 Charming)

DSC03669.jpg picture by quikdiesel

Charming is slightly shimmery, bronzy goldy colour. I haven’t been using it that much because I usually do a brown or gold eye and cheeks and this colour would be too much for that look. There’s nothing fascinating about this lipstick but it does the basics. It’s long-wearing, moisturizing and doesn’t feather. It’s between matte and shiny.

But one thing I do have to say is that I really like the design. I know, I know, it’s really simple but that’s whats great about it. It looks so chic and smart when you pull it out of your purse and the imprinted ck letters is a nice touch.

Electric Edge Liquid Eyeliner Marker: (401 Electric Black)

 DSC03667.jpg picture by quikdiesel

I am using this eyeliner everyday too. (haha I use so much Calvin Klein makeup its like I’m endorsing it) This eyeliner doesn’t smudge AT ALL and only takes like a couple seconds to dry. I have used other liquid eyeliners before that have those tiny flexible brushes and are actually quite liquidy and they take too long to dry. This one isn’t very liquidy, it’s very much like using an actual marker. One thing I can’t figure out if it’s a con or pro is the applicator. The applicator is like a marker, stiff, and so it’s not flexible at all. This gives more control but at the same time I find i have to manouver my hand and head a lot because since it won’t move, I have to.

All right, I’m finally done my long Calvin Klein ramble and I’m generally impressed with their makeup. The minimalistic but chic packaging definetely adds to the whole effect. Honestly, I was not expecting much from this brand when it first became available to the masses because I don’t even like their clothes that much. (Although I must say guys with Calvin Klein underwear are extremely sexy). But it turns out their prices are decent, unlike other clothing turned makeup brands (cough cough Dior and Chanel) and the products are overall good quality.

Way to go Calvin Klein!!!

My Secret

So continuing on the marriage topic here, I thought I’d let you all in on a bit of a secret of mine.

I’m actually married already. Yes I’m only 16 but I’m married. And no its not b/c i got pregnant and we thought it was the best way to deal with it or anything like that.

It was actually arranged by my grandpa and my “husbands” grandpa way back in the day. I only learnt about it about a year or so ago and I officially got married and signed the papers on February 18 of this year.

I really didn’t want to get married, obviously b/c i hardly knew the guy and i just hated the idea of not even having control of my love life. But i thought it over and I could tell how happy it would make our grandparents and so i relented.

Our original plan and maybe the plan still running is to get divorced as soon as our grandparents pass away (touch wood). I mean i obviously don’t want them to pass away but thinking realistically, they are going to soon and then i can be free of the marriage.

But my thoughts have changed quite a bit or at least I’m more openminded about the whole thing after this summer when i went to Hong Kong where my grandparents, relatives and husband live.

My husband is 18 and from what i see, a complete player and cassinova. He’s really smart but the real problem with him is that i can’t tell when hes being serious or just joking around.

Crown J and Seo In Young

This couple is definetely my second fav of all the couples. They are so realistic and compatible.

Here are some pics from their wedding photoshoot that i absolutely adore. They are absolutely beautiful. Credits to Coolsmurf(http://coolsmurf.wordpress.com/2008/07/17/crown-j-and-seo-in-young-100th-anniversary-wedding-photoshoot/)
